CALLING ALL GARDENERS

A question, gentle readers:

WHAT THE FREAK DOES A GIRL HAVE TO DO TO GROW SOME HERBS???

I MEAN SOME DECENT HERBS THAT SHE CAN ACTUALLY PICK AND PUT IN A DISH???

I'VE BEEN TRYING FOR YEARS...YEARS!  AND I HAVE YET TO GET A SINGLE STUPID HERB INTO ANY DISH.  EVER!

DO I NEED A DEGREE???  DO I HAVE TO HAVE MY BLACK THUMBS SURGICALLY REMOVED???

SERIOUSLY.  WHAT IS THE DEAL???

  1. OK. I'm nowhere near an expert -- but I've had some success with herbs. It's hard to tell from the picture, but I'd say bigger pots, more plants. Use a huge deep pot, so the roots can grow. Or, plant them in the ground, if that's an option. Good luck.

  2. Here's my advice,
Parsley and Cilantro need deep pots with kind of sandy soil, don't over water. They have long taproots like a carrots.Use miracle-grow soil(...not the water saver kind) with some sand mixed in.
Plant Basil in the ground with a little granular fertilizer in a sunny spot and water it regularly. Watch out for slugs and snails and rabbits.
Then ignore them...watched herbs never grow.

  3. You know, I think deep pots might just be the trick. Thanks, gals!
